Pekitzer stands as the pinnacle of wealth and status for the kelts in
Hasphal, and it is the sworn enemy of the
jeht kind. The citizens of Pekitzer are devout followers of the Gaddok religion, which views the
jehts as barbaric demons from the infernal realm of Remerin. Under the guise of purifying the land, Pekitzen guards, filled with self-righteous zeal, frequently raid
jeht settlements. In truth, these violent acts serve to protect the interests of wealthy real estate moguls and the noble elite who control the city.
One such noble, Jagen, the son of a prominent real estate tycoon and heir to
Hasphal’s most prestigious inn, grew disillusioned with Pekitzer’s tyranny. Jagen openly opposed the brutal raids, speaking out against the guard’s manipulation of Gaddok’s teachings to justify their cruelty. He fought alongside the
jehts, witnessing the bloodshed firsthand, and vowed to change the system from within. His plan: infiltrate the Pekitzen High Council and use his influence to bring about change.
Jagen’s intimate knowledge of the Gaddok religion, along with his community service, earned him widespread support among Pekitzer’s citizens. He became a man of the people, though his rapid rise in political influence made him enemies. One fateful night, after returning late from a town hall meeting, Jagen discovered his wife brutally murdered, her body torn apart. The Pekitzen Guard claimed it was the work of a demon, but Jagen doubted their story.
Devastated and reclusive, Jagen’s worldview shattered. Desperate for closure, he turned to the Ridders,
Hasphal’s global military force, known for capturing dangerous
jehts and “protecting” the kelts. Though he knew this wasn’t the solution he sought, he believed it could be a step toward real change. However, once inside the Ridders, Jagen would confront a deeper, more insidious evil at the heart of
Hasphal… One that threatened to consume everything he thought he stood for.
Jagen’s vast resources, inherited from his family’s real estate empire, have afforded him the opportunity to master various forms of martial arts as well as the formerly forbidden art of alchemy. A passionate scholar, he has immersed himself in science and education, devouring the extensive literature and teachings available to him. His studies have also made him well-versed in the enigmatic history of
Hasphal, giving him a deeper understanding of its mysteries.
